Soil and Water

Purpose and Overview

The Porter County Soil And Water Conservation District was created to connect people with questions and concerns about soil, water and related natural resources issues to people with answers and solutions. At times those answers might come right from the SWCD office in the form of educational or technical assistance. However, if we cannot meet your needs we will find out who can. The Porter County SWCD is a county office and subdivision of state government that cooperates with the federal Natural Resources Conservation Service and many other entities in its commitment to providing land users with the educational, financial and technical assistance needed to address soil and water quality programs.
