PORTER COUNTY VETERANS SERVICE OFFICE (VSO)

MISSION:

To assist veterans and their eligible family member to apply and receive all rightful veterans' state and federal entitlements. To provide veterans information or other assistance as required.

Who are County Veterans Service Officers?

CVSO's are veterans who stand ready to help you with your veteran-related needs. The County Veterans Service Offices have all the forms and other information you may need to obtain service from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as well as the forms for requesting State veterans' benefits. The Service Officers will assist you in finding the information and resources you need to solve your service-related problems. They are your liaison for all veteran issues. There is no charge for any of their services.

Are you a veteran who does not have dental insurance coverage and reside in Lake, Porter and Laporte Counties? The Northwest Indiana Dental Society and Indiana University Northwest are offering FREE basic dental screening on Saturday, April 22nd. At this one day event, they will do a dental screening, including exams and x-rays. You will then be referred to a local dentist who will perform the necessary general dental procedures at NO COST. YOU MUST REGISTER BEFORE APRIL 15th! You can register by calling (219) 334-7552. You will also need to bring your discharge papers (DD214) and Driver's License.
