Any eligible Hoosier can self-register for a vaccine appointment. A friend or family member also can make an appointment on behalf of a qualifying individual. But the person registered will be required to provide photo identification before they will be given the COVID-19 immunization.

Both of the Porter County Health Department locations offer both Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. Note: The State registration site states that the Porter County Health Department sites only offer Moderna. That is incorrect. Our sites offer both Pfizer & Moderna.

The Porter County Health Department (PCHD) is currently offering vaccinations at the following sites in Portage and Valparaiso. You will find specific registration instructions for each location.
PCHD Portage Location - Offers Pfizer & Moderna Vaccine
North County Government Annex, 3590 Willowcreek Rd, Suite C, Portage. Please be aware that this location is currently open on Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays and can offer about 100 appointments per day. Pre-registration required. Walk-ins not accepted at this site. PCHD Valparaiso Location - Offers Pfizer & Moderna Vaccine
Porter County Expo Center, 215 E Division Rd, Valparaiso. This location is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays and can offer over 500 appointments per day. Walk-ins will be accepted under the conditions below and appointments are still accepted. If you want to register for this specific site, go to the REGISTRATION SITE and enter a zip code of 46383 when asked, then choose PORTER COUNTY EXPO CENTER MVAX.
UPDATED MAY 13: Through the end of May, walk-ins are accepted at the Porter County Expo Vaccination Site for both first and second doses.
Tuesdays from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Wednesdays from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Thursdays from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Fridays from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Persons age 12 thru 17 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Regardless of where in Indiana you received your first dose, you can receive your second dose at the Expo under these conditions:
If your first dose was Pfizer, at least 21 days must have passed since your first dose.
If your first dose was Moderna, at least 28 days must have passed since your first dose
You MUST present the vaccination card you were given when you received your first dose.
