Classes available to the business community and public:
- "Are You Ready". A one hour to 90 minute program that covers a multitude of areas: fire safety, tornado safety, etc. This overview stresses the need for all of us to be prepared to take care of ourselves and families during severe weather and other times when the local emergency services may be overwhelmed by the magnitude of the situation. (Length of time depends on questions from the audience).
- "Tornado Safety". A 45 minute program that deals with tornado safety only.
- "Disaster Preparedness". A 45 minute program that deals with how to prepare for and what to do during a severe winter storm.
- "Fire Safety and Preparedness". This multi-part program can vary greatly in length, depending on what areas the sponsoring agency wishes to cover. (Home Safety, Home Escape Plan, How To Escape, Fire Extinguishers). Each area can be a separate presentation and takes about 45 minutes to one hour.
- "Fire Safety For Nurses". This course is designed for nurses in hospital, nursing home, and the VNA setting. (Each class is adjusted for area of nursing being instructed.)
- "American Red Cross - Community First Aid and Safety". An eight hour course that is certified by the Porter County Chapter of the American Red Cross. (Certification Cards issued upon satisfactory completion of course.)
- "Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation". This course is taught to the Standards of the American Red Cross and the American Heart Association. (Certification Cards issued upon satisfactory completion of course.)
