• Paul C. Zona, Sr. made a donation of 80 acres of land in the northeast part of Jackson Township to the Porter County Commissioners. The presentation by his son, Frank Zona and his daughter, Mary Ann Zona-Gregg, was made on Tuesday, October 5, 1999, the day of Mr. Zona's 89th birthday. His wishes are to provide space for a wildlife sanctuary. A permanent sign will be placed at the location in his honor. This is a very precious gift to the residents of Porter County. We appreciate his forethought toward providing a safe haven for wildlife for the benefit of generations to come. Thank you, Mr. Zona.
