Public Pool Resources and Forms
Public and Semi-Public Pool Permits
Public/Semi-Public Pool applications for the following year, are distributed in October to existing facilities and are due back to the Porter County Health Department by December 31st along with the appropriate fee. Public pools are permitted either as a partial year pool. or a full year pool. A partial year pool facility is open from May to September and is charged a $25 per pool fee. A full year pool facility is open longer than May to September, and is charged a $50 per pool fee. Any applications received after December 31st will be charged a $10 late fee per pool. Public pool facilities are also required to have an employee on staff that has passed the National Swimming Pool Foundation's Certified Pool Operator (CPO) class. Any employee that adds chemicals and maintains the pool should be CPO certified. A copy of the employee's CPO certificate is required in addition to the permit application and fee.
