Without the proper erosion control practices during construction projects, tons of sediment can clog water bodies, sewer systems and roads. Proper storm water management is a priority for the Soil & Water District.

The Porter County Soil & Water Conservation District conducts a number of Technical Reviews working together with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management to control erosion and sedimentation during construction. Even prior to the formal review process instituted by the state, the District, on its own, worked with contractors to offer education seminars and assistance focusing on storm water management.

When you are submitting an erosion control plan for a construction project for a technical review to the Porter County Soil & Water Conservation District please include the following information on a cover sheet.
