PORTER COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Special Meeting
August 11, 2008

The Porter County Council and Porter County Board of Commissioners held a special meeting prior to the Public Hearing and First Reading of the Porter County Budget on Monday, August 11, 2008 at 5:00 p.m., in the County Administration Center, 155 Indiana - Suite 205, Valparaiso, Indiana. 

Councilmembers present were Michael Bucko, Jim Burge, Karen Conover, Dan  Whitten, Rita Stevenson and President Bob Poparad. Board of Commissioners Members were Robert Harper, Carole Knoblock and John Evans.  Also present was Auditor James Kopp, Attorney Dave Hollenbeck, Alizabeth Bailey and Jan Noll.

BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MEETING
RDA Appointment

Com. Harper, Alright, I’d like to call this special meeting of the Porter County Board of Commissioners to order.   The purpose of this meeting is our appointment to the RDA.  Do I hear or motion or discussion?

Com. Evans moved to reappoint Gus Olympidis to the RDA Board.  Com. Knoblock seconded.

Com. Harper, Alright, we have a motion and a second to appoint Mr. Olympidis to that board.  Any further discussion?  All those in favor say aye.

Motion carried on a unanimous voice vote.

Com. Harper, Motion carries.  With that, do I have a motion to recess?

Com. Evans moved to recess.  Com. Knoblock seconded, motion carried unanimously.

RDA Appointment

Mr. Poparad, Okay, we’re going to open our special meeting for the appointment of the RDA.  Any motions?

Mr. Burge moved to reappoint Gus Olympidis to the RDA Board.  Mrs. Conover seconded, motion carried on a unanimous voice vote.

There being no further business, the special meeting was adjourned.
